ABOUT PROJECT TRANSFORM

Help us revitalise the Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club clubrooms

Project Transform is dedicated to the revitalisation of the Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club’s aging clubrooms at Williamson Park.

Our 55 year old building is in a bad state of disrepair and is barely fit for purpose.
The club is embarking on a major renovation and transformation project.

OVERVIEW

The cost of the renovation and alterations to the clubhouse are estimated to be around $2 million. Clearly this is an enormous amount of money and great care will be exercised in all aspects of expenditure. A committee has been set up to ensure value for money and materials are used that will stand the test of time.

All funds and expenditure will be transparent at all times and only approved by the Club’s board of directors. The building revenue and expenditure will be externally audited.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) strongly supports the project and has agreed to fund the initial structural engineering and architectural design and calculations costs through to land-use consent and building-permit lodgement. The Club will contribute $100,000 from its own reserves.
