Project Transform Update…

Nearly there!!!

We are thrilled to announce that the renovated club buildings will be ready to move into in Early October with a formal opening planned in November.  See key dates below. These will be a great opportunity to look around the building and help us say thanks to our supporters, big and small who made this happen.

By ready for use, we mean fully operationally ready for the season – with both exterior and internal fit-out complete and ready for our members and wider community.

Included in this newsletter are some photos that give you a sense of what the refreshed spaces are looking like.

Alongside the visible improvements but just as important:

  • our seismic compliance (removing those costs in the future).
  • the total rewiring of the club.
  • the replacement of the critical frontal structural supports with coated steel.
  • a full re-fit of the ground floor with new toilet and shower facilities; a revamped first-aid room and a drying/laundry room; and
  • A ground floor HVAC system and lighting system meaning these areas will be well ventilated and light filled, along with heating and extraction units on the 1st floor.

A sneak peak inside…

Changing rooms with new showers, flooring, lighting and extraction

New lighting, electrical, fire alarms and sensors.

Structural steel beams, joists and beams ready for new extended deck.

Complete new brick work with seismic strengthening.

New wiring, lighting and balustrade in the annex extension.

But wait… we still need your support……….

As you all appreciate, funding has been a challenge in the current environment, with SLSNZ and a number of very special individuals/families ensuring our core build could be completed. This still left a sizeable funding gap in respect of completing our interior enhancements and fitting out of around $150,000 – $200,000.

To ensure interiors worthy of the new spaces, we have put in place some funding support arrangements to enable us to complete all aspects of the project by season opening.
There are a couple of ways you can assist us to quickly reduce the gap and clear our support commitments:

Buy a Brick

These will form part of the new walkways around the club. Bricks can have a maximum of 16 characters (including spaces) per line with a max of 3 lines. Cost: $550 per brick. Initial release of 100.
